Excelsior Ambulance Service

EMS and Specialty Transport Services

Excelsior Ambulance Service provides elite EMS and specialty transport solutions for hospitals, health systems, event organizers, and healthcare partners across the Southeast. Built around high-performance operations, advanced clinical capability, and dependable system support, Excelsior offers a full range of transport and response services designed for organizations that require more from their EMS partner.

From lower-acuity Basic Life Support to Critical Care Transportation, event medical coverage, and 911 emergency response, Excelsior brings together trained crews, progressive equipment, and coordinated operations to support reliable movement, clinical readiness, and system-level solutions.

Basic Life Support

Basic Life Support (BLS) facilitates lower-acuity ambulance transport when hospitals and healthcare organizations need reliable transport for medically stable patients. Excelsior BLS crews provide essential pre-hospital care, including assessment, oxygen support, CPR, AED use, basic airway support, bleeding control, splinting, and safe stretcher movement.

BLS helps hospitals and health groups match the correct level of transport to the right need. It can support discharge flow, interfacility movement, recurring transport requests, and lower-acuity response without overusing ALS or Critical Care resources. For EMTs, Excelsior also provides an environment where crews can work up to their approved scope of practice in each state where the organization operates.

Advanced Life Support

Advanced Life Support (ALS) provides a higher level of pre-hospital care for calls and transports that require paramedic-level support. Excelsior ALS may include cardiac monitoring, IV access, medication administration, advanced airway support, and continued clinical assessment during transport.

ALS is often used when a patient’s condition is too complex for BLS but does not require Critical Care Transportation. Excelsior’s ALS model is also strengthened by advanced in-field clinical capabilities, including IV antibiotics, labs drawn in the field, and rural High Flow Nasal Cannula capability. These services support hospitals and health systems that need advanced ground transport across both metro and rural markets.

Critical Care Transportation

Critical Care Transportation (CCT) supports high-acuity movement between facilities when advanced monitoring, respiratory support, specialized medications, or a higher level of clinical oversight is required. Excelsior CCT is built for complex transports that require greater preparation, more equipment, and greater clinical capability during the trip.

Excelsior’s CCT program is supported by ventilator-capable care, PLS licensure, HFNC, IV antibiotics, field-drawn labs, blood products in progress, and POCUS development for heart attacks and trauma. The goal is to preserve continuity of critical care between sending and receiving facilities while helping hospitals move higher-acuity cases safely and efficiently.

Special Needs Transportation

Special Needs Transportation (SNT) supports non-emergency movement when accessibility, mobility assistance, or safe transport cannot be handled by a standard vehicle. Excelsior SNT may include wheelchair-accessible transport, stretcher-equipped transport, securement support, and assistance with movement between facilities or care-related destinations.

SNT gives hospitals and health groups a dependable option for transport needs that require more than a passenger vehicle but do not require ALS or Critical Care resources. With trained operators, appropriate vehicles, and clear communication, Excelsior helps reduce delays around pick-up, drop-off, discharge timing, and facility coordination.

Inter-Facility Transfers

Inter-Facility Transfers help hospitals and health systems move patients between care settings when the next level of service, specialty support, or facility access is needed. Excelsior provides inter-facility transport at multiple levels, including BLS, ALS, and Critical Care Transportation.

These transfers may involve movement from a community hospital to a specialty center, transport between facilities within a health system, or high-acuity movement requiring advanced clinical support. Excelsior helps healthcare organizations coordinate the correct transport level, prepare the right crew, and support communication between sending and receiving teams.

Event Coverage

Event Coverage provides on-site EMS support for organizations that need medical readiness during large, active, or higher-risk events. Excelsior event coverage teams may support athletic events, motorsports, rodeos, air shows, school or community events, and other settings where immediate EMS access can reduce unnecessary 911 activation.

On-site crews can assess medical concerns, provide appropriate care, coordinate movement through the venue, and escalate when transport or hospital care is needed. Event coverage is built around preparation before the event begins, including venue access, crowd size, risk level, weather exposure, and the type of EMS coverage required.

911 Emergency Response

911 Emergency Response requires swift action, clinical judgment, and the ability to support the broader healthcare system during emergencies. Excelsior provides emergency response services backed by advanced equipment, trained teams, and a model built around system reliability.

Excelsior’s emergency response capabilities include support for high-acuity calls, rural response needs, respiratory emergencies, trauma, cardiac concerns, and escalation into ALS, CCT, or specialty transport when needed. The organization’s investment in equipment, training, and advanced clinical capability reflects a clear philosophy: EMS teams should be prepared for the calls that require more.
